Lincoln | A first birthday in-home lifestyle session to kick off October!

This adorable little Pumpkin is turning one year old! Her smile is so contagious. I feel like I was grinning this whole session just because she makes it pretty impossible not to! I love the Fall vibes even in the house. With the shade of orange in her cute outfit, little pumpkins and leaf decorations, mom did a great job of bringing October inside while letting little Lincoln stay warm and cozy in the comfort of home.

Lifestyle sessions in the home are so much fun! You don’t always need a ton of room, just some windows! We did most of Lincoln’s portraits in her nursery and on the kitchen floor! Seriously, we can always rearrange a little to make it work. If you’ve ever even considered it, just send me a message! Especially with the cold winter months right around the corner, in-home sessions are a wonderful option!

Lincoln was sooo happy being in her own crib! I honestly believe we would not have gotten some of these precious smiles if she was outside in the cold wet grass that she’s unfamiliar with. Enjoy a sneak peek from the birthday girl’s photo shoot!

A Rainy Day at the Park with Baby Michael

Grandma and Grandpa got to have the pleasure of bringing Michael to his photo shoot this time, and it seemed to work wonderfully! I mean, what kid isn’t all smiles for the grandparents?! I got to meet this little guy when he was just 2 days old! It doesn’t seem possible that it was a whole year ago already.

We had a fun time just playing on the playground and throwing in a few traditional portraits when the mood was right. Even when it started raining, Michael was all about exploring and he kept a happy face on the entire time! He seriously made my job so easy. However, Grandma and Grandpa DID work really hard for some belly laughs that turned out so adorable, so huge kudos to them! :)

Everett's Newborn Lifestyle Session

Everett was lucky to be born into a loving family with parents Ashley and Peter, and big brother Charles. As soon as I walked into their home I got the sense that this family was welcoming, kind and creative. Their home was painted beautifully inside and I loved seeing some of their DIY projects around, like a sensory type bored for their 2 year old (great idea!)

We started in mom and dad’s room and had a little family time on their vibrantly colored bed, which fit their style well. Charles actually warmed up to me right away! That was certainly a pleasant surprise! Sometimes my big ol’ camera is intimidating to little eyes but he was all about pushing the buttons! When you scroll through the sneak peek in a minute, keep an eye out for the picture of their cat - Charles took that one!

He’s still adapting to life with a new baby. I mean, it’s a pretty big change after all! Mom and dad are doing a great job of letting him know he’s just as loved as he was before. He even got some story time while I photographed Everett on his own. And let me tell you about baby Everett! He is just such a darling little boy, mommy’s little lamb. Already sleeping long stretches at a week old, perfectly calm and cuddly. I could’ve taken his pictures all day long!

It truly was a wonderful experience spending a couple hours with this new family of four. They are gentle and loving with open hearts and minds. I thank them for letting me capture a little glimpse of their lives and I hope I do their story justice!
