Baby Ketch Maternity Sneak Peek

I love, love LOVE doing the Baby First Year plan and am super excited to meet baby Ketch in just a couple months! Her parents did amazing at their maternity session!

Since they live in Illinois and I’m in Clinton, Iowa we met in the middle and did their photos right by the Mississippi River in Fulton, IL and some inside Heritage Canyon. While the canyon is always awesome, it was pretty muddy so we didn’t fully explore this time. That’ll happen in March! We weren’t worried though, there were plenty of opportunities for great photos, as you can see below!

If you’re thinking about doing maternity pictures, just know you can do them any time of the year and document this special time! :)

Happy Half Year Kate and Jason!

When I first met with Kate I knew immediately that I wanted to be there to photograph her wedding. So I crossed my fingers extra tight hoping she felt the same way! She was down-to-earth, kind, intelligent, and completely in love with her best friend. I could see it in her eyes how excited she was and how positively sure she was that she wanted to marry Jason. This is what I love about being a wedding photographer. It's the people who are so genuinely excited for their wedding to come, not for the party, but for the actual marriage that follows. Kate and Jason chose a time of year they loved at a little place they loved with the people they loved most in the world, and of course, each other. One of the most memorable details of the day was Kate's wedding dress. She combined her mother's wedding dress with her grandmother's dress to create her very own. It turned out absolutely perfect! The whole day was intimate, beautiful, sentimental and the start of a very long and happy marriage.

Spears Wedding Highlights

Tori and Jacob gathered with friends and family to say their vows, tie the knot, and celebrate the beginning of their new marriage. The wedding was in Dixon, Illinois at the Loveland Community building, also where the ladies got ready. I searched the whole  building to find the perfect spot for a shot of the wedding dress and I definitely found it. Big gorgeous window, plus a stunning gown, equals perfection! After the ceremony we headed over to the post house for the reception. This was my first experience at both locations. I loved the ballroom, it was beautiful. There were enormous chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, lights creating a glamorous ambiance, of course all of the guests' excitement was contagious!
