Baby Ketch Maternity Sneak Peek

I love, love LOVE doing the Baby First Year plan and am super excited to meet baby Ketch in just a couple months! Her parents did amazing at their maternity session!

Since they live in Illinois and I’m in Clinton, Iowa we met in the middle and did their photos right by the Mississippi River in Fulton, IL and some inside Heritage Canyon. While the canyon is always awesome, it was pretty muddy so we didn’t fully explore this time. That’ll happen in March! We weren’t worried though, there were plenty of opportunities for great photos, as you can see below!

If you’re thinking about doing maternity pictures, just know you can do them any time of the year and document this special time! :)

Throwback to the Baby Bump

Today’s Throwback Thursday blog post is a maternity session from last Summer. It’s one of my favorite maternity shoots to date! Jenny and Zack are an awesome couple who both excel in helping people be better versions of themselves. They are very passionate about health and fitness and pass on those traits, not only to clients, but to their kids as well. This adorable baby bump is gone now and Jenny is working hard to get back to her old self. But I hope she doesn’t forget how beautiful she was during the pregnancy that led to the sweetest, chillest baby boy, Knoxxwell Knight!

Leo's Newborn Lifestyle Session

I had the pleasure of photographing Leo’s big brother Grayson’s first year and now I am over the moon to do the same for this baby boy number two!

Mom and Dad joined me in the 2 boys under 2 club! It’s a fun club to be in, but also pretty exhausting. I’ve had people ask me if it gets easier as they get older, and I have to say it really depends on your kids. For me it’s totally gone up and down over the past 3 1/2 years. I’m sure that trend will continue! We have good phases and challenging phases (to put it nicely). But there are wonderful moments every single day (amidst the chaos). The best way to make it through the tough times is to really savor and appreciate those minuscule incredible moments that make you smile.

I can’t wait to follow Leo and Grayson through the next year of life and capture not only Leo’s milestones, but the brotherhood relationship they are building. And of course mom and dad in this beautiful season of life!
