A Rainy Day at the Park with Baby Michael

Grandma and Grandpa got to have the pleasure of bringing Michael to his photo shoot this time, and it seemed to work wonderfully! I mean, what kid isn’t all smiles for the grandparents?! I got to meet this little guy when he was just 2 days old! It doesn’t seem possible that it was a whole year ago already.

We had a fun time just playing on the playground and throwing in a few traditional portraits when the mood was right. Even when it started raining, Michael was all about exploring and he kept a happy face on the entire time! He seriously made my job so easy. However, Grandma and Grandpa DID work really hard for some belly laughs that turned out so adorable, so huge kudos to them! :)

Just Grandma and Me {Donna + Lillian}

I got to meet sweet Lillian last Fall at a photo shoot with her mom and dad. Lucky for me, her Grandma Donna contacted me shortly after to set up her own session with me!

Donna recently moved to Iowa from the western side of the country to be closer to her sweet granddaughter and of course her son and daughter in law too. She was able to bring work with her and set up an office in her beautiful new home. It was important for Donna to capture this stage of life and I took my job as her storyteller seriously. We photographed some of the things that make her who she is. Her craftiness, kitchen skills, love of reading, Christianity and the love she has for Lillian.

I loved walking into her world for an hour on a sunny Winter afternoon to get to know her and her family a bit better and photograph what I hope will be meaningful images they always hold dear. I’m already looking forward to working with them again someday!

An Extended Family Winter Photo Shoot

Not gonna lie, this morning session was a COLD one! When you’re trying to get the whole family together at the same time, sometimes rescheduling isn’t an option. I have to say though, everyone did great! There were lots of laughs among the shivers and it was pretty apparent that they all love each other enough to also make fun of each other…that’s the best kind of family dynamic in my opinion!

We had fun and captured some great moments that will look beautiful on their walls.
