Rebecca + Jacob | A joyful & rainy wedding day at the Vista Grande in Clinton, Iowa

To sum up this wedding in one word, I would definitely use “joyful!” There were so many smiling faces and all around happiness as Becky and Jake spoke their vows. The wedding party was so amazing to work with, funny, kind and definitely the life of the party! It’s easy to see why they were chosen to stand up with the bride and groom during their wedding ceremony. Also, a huge shoutout to grandma Barb for helping so much with the little ring bearer so mommy and daddy could focus on their big day while still soaking in the spontaneous hugs from Joey as he made his rounds. All of the guests had a great time and I was so impressed with the venue! I haven’t been to the Vista Grande in a few years and it seems they've made updates to the building. It was perfect for their reception!

Some of the other vendors that deserve major props are Melissa Johnston for the beautiful hair and makeup, David’s Bridal and Men’s Wearhouse for the perfectly coordinated wedding attire, Corner Deli Catering from Clinton, Iowa for the delicious meal and Sweetheart Bakery (also Clinton) for the tasty wedding cake!

From where I was standing, everything came together wonderfully, despite the rain! It didn’t get in the way of the joy of the day even a little bit. We still did outdoor portraits and umbrellas are adorable in photos anyway! I hope Mr and Mrs Rogge agree (I’m sure they do) and had the most amazing wedding day!

Rion Wedding | A unique Nordic wedding at Union Station Extension in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

We all knew it was coming…and by it, I mean the rain! The whole drive to Cedar Rapids I was hoping it would stop but alas, it did not. However, we let ourselves in at Kirkwood College (one of the bridesmaids works there!) and found some great areas to work with! It actually ended up being really cool because we found the room that our bride and groom actually met in for the first time. I’m not sure if I believe in fate, but I do believe you can find the silver lining in any situation. And we did that in spades! Oh and thank you to whoever invented umbrellas, specifically the clear ones that are amazing for portraits!

After the first look and some portraits we headed to Union Station Extension for the ceremony and reception. It was so unique and fit Alisha and Joseph perfectly. Family and friends gathered to help celebrate this new chapter in their lives. It was a beautiful day and I wish the best for the new Mr and Mrs Rion!

Here are just a few of the photos captured from their special day. More to come!
