When I first met with Kate I knew immediately that I wanted to be there to photograph her wedding. So I crossed my fingers extra tight hoping she felt the same way! She was down-to-earth, kind, intelligent, and completely in love with her best friend. I could see it in her eyes how excited she was and how positively sure she was that she wanted to marry Jason. This is what I love about being a wedding photographer. It's the people who are so genuinely excited for their wedding to come, not for the party, but for the actual marriage that follows. Kate and Jason chose a time of year they loved at a little place they loved with the people they loved most in the world, and of course, each other. One of the most memorable details of the day was Kate's wedding dress. She combined her mother's wedding dress with her grandmother's dress to create her very own. It turned out absolutely perfect! The whole day was intimate, beautiful, sentimental and the start of a very long and happy marriage.
Opposites attract, this much is true. Several times throughout the day I heard this mentioned in reference to Ivy and Ethan's relationship. Ivy is more quiet and reserved while Ethan is the outgoing "class clown." I can relate to this so much. The same exact thing has been said about my husband and me. So I know exactly how true it is that opposites attract. In some ways, though, Ivy and Ethan are very similar.
They are both kind and thoughtful, always putting each other first. They value their friendships and build strong relationships. They like to have a good time, relax with a cold beer, and not take life too seriously. All of these things were prevalent in their wedding day celebration, making it obvious that they are a perfect pair. I absolutely loved their reception, complete with wine, pie, popcorn, and a friendly game of bags.
I think I am qualified to now vouch for match.com considering I've had multiple wedding clients successfully meet and fall in love thanks to that amazing site! They must do an awesome job connecting the right people because Kate and Jason are absolutely perfect for each other. You'd think they have been best friends their entire lives the way they understand and mutually respect one another. They make each other laugh, like real, genuine laughter. They are moving on the same path with the same goals, values, and doing so with complete support for one another. It's a wonderful thing to see. I am so honored to get to be a part of their wedding celebration coming up in just a couple months. Their engagement session was so much fun, I am very much looking forward to working with this awesome couple again very soon!
