The Williams Family Spring Session Sneak Peek

I first met the Williams family a few years ago when they did a Fall family session with me. I always love to hear years later that they still love and display their photos! That’s what this job is all about after all - keeping memories alive! :)

I was really excited to capture some updated family photos for them, this time in the Spring. We waited for the gorgeous flowers to bloom at our local Arboretum and I’m so glad we got to the weekend we did because everything looked picture-perfect!

I had the hardest time narrowing down their photos for a sneak peek…so many great family memories captured!

It's never too early to teach your kids about their Earth

Happy Earth Day!

We started our day with an early morning walk through Clinton’s beautiful Bickelhaupt Arboretum. We are so lucky to have this little gem in our community! I know my son Bennett has been learning a lot about plants at preschool this month so it was fun to take him through there and show him the many budding flowers. He told us all about how plants grow and we looked for bees and butterflies. A lot of people are scared of bees and I want to make sure my boys know that they are not so scary. As long as we respect them and give them their space, they won’t hurt us! That’s true with most things in nature.

I was thinking of ways that I could teach my kids to help take care of our planet and compiled a short list of ideas. I’d love to know your ideas as well, please share in the comments!

  1. Turn off lights when you leave the room.

  2. Turn off the water while brushing your teeth.

  3. Take a bag on your walk so you can pick up trash along the way.

  4. Grow your own vegetables. Contact the Ericksen Center in Clinton for information on our community garden!

  5. Recycle bottles, cans and paper.

Van Kampen Family Sneak Peek

All of these babies I've photographed over the last several years are big kids now, starting school, and welcoming younger siblings! :) I kind of love it and it also kind of makes me feel old...haha! I met Brayden's mommy when he was a newborn, took his first birthday pictures, yearly photos, and now he's FIVE! What?! And his baby brother Braxton is absolutely adorable. These little brothers are so handsome and were so good for their pictures. Mom and dad did great too! We took the pictures at the Bickelhaupt Arboretum in Clinton, where they told me their engagement pictures were actually taken, so it's always neat to come full circle! It's so gorgeous there, definitely one of my favorite go-to photo shoot spots.

Here is a sneak peek from their session :)
