Behind the Scenes of a Content Suite Session | Moonlight Beauty

When I first announced Content Suites, one of the most common questions I got was:

"What actually happens during one of these?"

Honestly, I wasn't completely sure either 😂

I had the general idea, of course. I knew I wanted to help small business owners create a library of content instead of constantly scrambling for something to post. But until I actually did one, I wasn't exactly sure what the process would look like in real life.

Recently, I photographed my first Content Suite with Stevie from Moonlight Beauty, and it ended up being the perfect test run.

It Started With a Questionnaire

Before we ever scheduled the session, Stevie filled out a pretty detailed questionnaire about her business, products, personality, goals, and the kind of content she felt like she was missing.

One thing became obvious pretty quickly.

Moonlight Beauty isn't just about products.

It's about rituals, self-care, slowing down, and creating intentional moments.

Once I understood that, the session became a lot less about photographing products and a lot more about telling the story behind the business.

Capturing the Person Behind the Brand

One thing I kept coming back to while planning was this:

There are a lot of people who sell products.

There is only one Stevie.

So instead of spending three hours taking photos of things sitting on a table, we focused on the things that make her brand feel like her.

We photographed journaling, crocheting, tarot cards, getting ready for the day, and plenty of inbetween moments with her dog, Kieran.

Some of my favorite images from the session don't feature a product at all.

And honestly, I think that's kind of the point.

People connect with people.

More Than Product Photos

Of course, we also captured content for upcoming zodiac bundles, lunar bundles, and future launches.

But what surprised me was how much I loved documenting the process behind everything.

Selecting and using the products, putting together bundles, and all of the little behind-the-scenes details customers don't normally get to see.

Those moments help tell the story too.

Building a Content Library

One thing I realized during this session is that a Content Suite isn't really a photoshoot.

It's more like a content creation day where we can batch a ton of content at once.

We captured photos, video clips, behind-the-scenes moments, portraits, products, lifestyle content, and enough variety that Stevie should have content to pull from for months.

That's really the goal.

Not just a handful of pretty images.

A library of content that actually makes showing up online easier.

My Biggest Takeaway

The most rewarding part wasn't taking the photos.

It was helping turn a bunch of ideas into an actual plan.

I think a lot of small business owners struggle with content because they're trying to figure out what they're supposed to post.

But when you take a step back and look at what makes your business different, the ideas start showing up naturally.

For Stevie, that wasn't just her products.

It was her personality, her interests, her routines, and the things that make Moonlight Beauty feel like Moonlight Beauty.

And for most small businesses, that's usually where the best content lives.

Interested in a Content Suite for your business?

I'd love to help you create a content library that feels like you and makes showing up online a little less overwhelming.
