Brittnay + Nick | Olathea Creek Vineyard & Murphy's Event Center Wedding

Some weddings are beautiful. Some weddings are fun. And every once in a while, you get one that manages to be both. Brittnay and Nick's wedding day was exactly that.

From the very beginning, it was clear how much thought had gone into every detail. Brittnay is incredibly detail-oriented, and it showed in all the best ways. The soft pink and black color palette looked elegant and cohesive, the florals were beautiful, and every piece of the day felt intentional without feeling overdone.

But while the details were stunning, what stood out most was the people.

Nick is a deputy, Brittnay is a nurse, and together they make such a great team. Throughout the entire day there was this feeling that they were exactly where they were supposed to be. They're clearly each other's person. Nick has a calm, grounding presence, and every time he looked at Brittnay you could tell just how smitten he is with her.

The day began at Murphy's Event Center in DeWitt, where Brittnay and Nick got ready surrounded by their closest friends and family. From there, we headed to Olathea Creek Vineyard for the ceremony and portraits before returning to Murphy's for an evening of celebration. Along the way, there was no shortage of emotional moments before the ceremony even started.

There were several first looks throughout the morning, each one bringing its own mix of fun, happy tears, and anticipation for the day ahead. The happy couple also exchanged private vows before the ceremony, creating a quiet moment together before the excitement of the day fully began.

And of course, we have to talk about the dogs.

The pups weren't just included in a few portraits. They actually walked down the aisle and took their places in the front row for the ceremony. Anyone who knows Brittnay and Nick knows how important their dogs are to them, so it felt perfectly fitting that they were such a big part of the day!

Another thing that made this wedding especially memorable is that it was the very first wedding ever held at Murphy's! It's always fun getting to photograph a new venue, and it was exciting to see the space come to life filled with family, friends, laughter, and plenty of celebration.

And speaking of celebration... these people know how to have a good time!

From the party bus to the reception festivities, the energy stayed high all day long. Even with the heat, nobody seemed interested in slowing down. Guests were ready to celebrate, and Brittnay and Nick soaked up every minute of it.

Even though the clouds kept golden hour mostly hidden, they did give us something I love just as much: a beautiful blue hour. We sneaked away for a few evening portraits, and those ended up being some of my favorite images from the day.

The night ended with a sparkler exit, surrounded by the people who love them most.

As I put together this preview, it's worth mentioning that what you're seeing here is primarily the day through my lens. I was fortunate enough to have a second photographer with me, which means there are still so many moments, perspectives, and details waiting to be included in the final gallery! One of the things I love most about having a second photographer is getting to tell an even fuller story of a wedding day.

Brittnay and Nick, thank you for trusting me to document such an important day in your lives. It was an honor to be part of it.
