French Family | Late November at Eagle Point Park
Late November in Iowa is always a bit of a gamble, but the French family lucked out. We met at Eagle Point Park on one of those crisp afternoons when the season hasn’t quite decided if it’s fall or winter. No snow yet, just clean, cool air and a little sunshine.
This session felt like a quiet exhale for a family of four who are right in the middle of big transitions. Their two college kids were home—older, steadier, already halfway into the next chapters of their lives—and the energy was that special mix you only get when everyone’s briefly under the same roof again. A little nostalgic, a little proud, a little “how is time moving this fast?”
We wandered through the park and made the most of the light. It was simple in the best way: relaxed, warm, and full of natural moments that didn’t need any prompting. Before winter rolled in, they took an hour to just be together. And yes—the dog absolutely stole a few frames.
French family, thanks for trusting me with this moment in your in-between season!
