Morgan & Colton | A Church Ceremony and Snow-Kissed Reception
Morgan and Colton Holdgrafer somehow managed to pack three full seasons into one wedding day—and honestly, it only made everything better. We started with drizzly November rain, and by the end of the night, we walked out into the first snowfall of the season. A surprise, yes. But also completely magical. Like the weather read the timeline and thought, “Let me see what I can add.”
Their day started at Andover Lutheran Church, where the energy was already high—kids running around, laughter bouncing off the walls, and Morgan looking absolutely stunning of course.
Morgan and Colton chose to exchange private vows without actually seeing one another—sitting back-to-back, sharing words meant only for them. It was intimate, sweet, and one of those moments where you stand really still as a photographer because if you move too quickly, you might cry and fog up your lens.
Morgan also had a first look with her brother, who later walked her down the aisle. The emotion in that moment was genuine and heavy in the best way. This was a family that loves hard.
The Ceremony
With Aubree Tanzillo and Katie Jensen officiating, the ceremony was heartfelt and beautifully personal. One of my favorite details was their unity candle puzzle—a unique twist that reflected both families coming together. The florals from Sola Wood Flowers weren’t your typical artificial arrangements. They were gorgeous, textured, and added such an elegant touch to the burgundy-and-navy palette.
And then there was Colton as he saw Morgan walk down the aisle. The kind of look every bride hopes for. Enough said.
The Reception
The move to the Goose Lake Millennium Ballroom kicked the energy up even further. Good food, great cake, and excellent music courtesy of Sass DJ—the dance floor stayed full all night.
As the doors opened during the night, the rain had transformed into falling snow. The first snowfall of the year, sparkling in the lights. Truly the perfect ending to a day that leaned all the way into romance and celebration.
Congratulations, Morgan & Colton!
Your day was joyful, emotional, high-energy, and unforgettable. From private vows to dancing under the season’s first snow dusting, I loved every second. Here are some early favorites…more to come!
