Teddi | Wildflower Newborn Session

I might be a little biased about this one.

Crystal is my cousin, and she and her husband Trey recently welcomed their sweet baby girl, Teddi, which meant I got the very fun job of photographing the newest little Voda. 🤍

For her newborn photos, we headed to a backyard wildflower patch belonging to my friend and fellow photographer Angela. I've gotten to work alongside Angela a few times over the years and absolutely love her, so I was very excited when we got to use this little spot for Teddi's photos.

And Teddi did SO good.

Especially when it came time for her solo photos. We tucked her into one of my baskets among the flowers, and she was perfectly content to just lounge there and take everything in.

And I swear she was actually looking at the flowers at one point. Not just newborn-staring-vaguely-in-a-direction looking. She genuinely seemed to notice them, which feels pretty impressive for someone who had only been in the world for a few weeks. 😂

Of course, we made sure to get plenty of photos with Mom and Dad too. Those first few weeks with a new baby go by in such a strange blur, and I'm always glad when we can document not only how tiny they were, but what the whole family looked like right at the beginning.

There was one more piece of this session that made the date especially meaningful.

We happened to take these photos on Teddi's grandpa's birthday. He passed away a few years ago, before he ever had the chance to meet her, and I couldn't help thinking about how completely smitten he would have been with this little girl. And I'm pretty sure the feeling would have been mutual. 🤍

I'm so glad I got to photograph Crystal and Trey with their newest little love. Welcome to the family, Teddi. I have a feeling you're going to be very, very loved.
